Seppa

SEPPA

The Seppa, or washers, are located on one or both sides of the Tsuba (guard). There can be one or more to fill the space there which keeps the entire Tsuka (hilt) tight.




Gold Foil Seppa


A copper seppa wrapped in gold foil.




Shakudo Foil Seppa


A copper seppa wrapped in shakudo foil. Shakudo is copper alloyed with 4-10 percent gold.


Silver Foil Seppa


A copper seppa wrapped in silver foil.
