Ōmori Terumitsu, Kozuka/Kogai

ŌMORI TERUMITSU 大森英満
circa 1800

Certification: NBTHK Hozon

Terumitsu (1785-1847) is considered the fourth master of the Ōmori family school, living and working in the Asakusa district of Edo. Terumitsu is the fifth son, and heir to, Ōmori Teruhide (third master of the Ōmori school, famous for his wave designs, among others). The "Kinko Meikan" states that Terumitsu "succeeded to the leadership of the family over his [four, older] brothers and continued the traditional style of his father, Teruhide, making it even more magnificent."

Copper frames, shakudo-nanako plaques, and gold pine trees, combine to produce this very striking set.
